Udvartana

Udvartana is an Ayurvedic practice of massaging the skin with powder of herbs that restores balance of the body and maintains physical health. It is very effective at removing excess oil from the skin. Udvartana helps to reduce Kapha dosha, increase circulation and improve overall skin health and complexion. It is also used to encourage strength, stability and cohesiveness of the tissues throughout the body. Powdered compounds of minerals, herbs and medicinal spices are used in Udvartana therapy. The specific ingredients of the compound used are determined by the unique Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti (imbalance) present in the patient at the time of treatment.
