This is a round the clock services with 24*7 accesses to operation theaters, pharmacy, imaging services and laboratory services assisting in immediate and accurate diagnosis for treatment of the patient’s condition.

It is specially equipped with high standards of laboratory skilled personnel and advanced machine. Provides information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, haematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories. Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labelling; sorting specimens; checking labelling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.

The 4 bedded NICU at Lourde Hospital is located nearer the labour rooms. It also provides baby-friendly initiative aids in providing optimal level of care to both the mother and child where information is provided to mothers on baby care, hygiene standards, breast-feeding and baby health.

The division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Lourde hospital deals with pregnancy, childbirth and treatment of diseases that affects the female reproductive system. Alternative to open surgeries, Gynecologic Laparoscopy is often used in gynaec procedures such as Ovarian Cystectomy, Twisted Ovarian Cystectomy, Hysterectomy (Vaginal/Lap), Myomectomy, Recanalization, Tubal Cannulation, removal of blocks in tube, mesh repair, etc. Often performed by gynecologists.

Recommending further appropriate examinations or treatments when necessary and conferring with referring physicians, Correlating medical image findings with other examinations and tests. Acting as an expert consultant to referring physician (the doctor who sent to the radiology department or clinic for testing) by aiding him or her in choosing the proper examination, interpreting the medical images, and using test results to direct care.

Lourde hospital is well equipped with wards and private rooms as floor basis. It is situated in third floor (Private rooms and general wards), Fourth, Fifth and sixth floor as private rooms. It is supervised by a Nurse in charge of a whole ward or unit who is clinically overseeing all areas of the ward and will feed back to nurses after the ward round. The main activities carried out in wards and private rooms are review of unstable or deteriorating patients, decision making and documenting of care, review of patients going home (pre-discharge), review of patients’ progress during their inpatient stay. Well trained nurses are clinically competent to understand and anticipate the complexities of multifaceted patient situations, and able to view the patient and career situation holistically rather than as a series of unrelated tasks. Systems such as team nursing, task-allocated nursing or primary nursing may require some adaptation but for nurses to properly represent their patients. The nurses are responsible for a bay or allocated number of patients, who will undertake the ward round for those patients.
